Ying Wa College Photography Club
Ten-poster recruitment series for a school photography club
As Vice President of the Ying Wa College Photography Club, I was responsible for designing the recruitment poster for the annual club fair. Every club needed something to put up on the day. Most settled on one.

Process and Strategy
A photography club's strongest argument for itself is its photographs. Designing a single static poster would have buried that. The question I asked was: what would make someone stop walking? The answer was the work itself. I proposed a series of ten posters, each built around one image handpicked from the club's best of the year, unified by the same typographic system.
Creative Solution
The design language was bold and uncluttered: a white ground, large golden yellow type, the club name running vertically, and a square black and white photograph centred in each poster. The template was strict enough to hold together as a series, and open enough to let each image carry its own weight. Every poster was optimised for both A4 print and square Instagram format, which was the platform's standard at the time.
Results
The series was well received within the school, noted for its consistency and the quality of the photography it put on display. The template proved durable: the members who took over the club after I left continued using the same format in subsequent years.

I take on a small number of projects at a time. That's intentional. The work is better for it.
