Just Search HOW
A self-initiated cinematic film about self-directed learning through cooking
I am a self-learner. I do not thrive when following someone else's pace, so the internet, and YouTube in particular, has always been my preferred classroom. This video is about that philosophy, told through one dish: carbonara. During COVID, I spent the better part of a year making it for lunch every day, watching tutorials, adjusting, failing, and trying again. It is one of the simplest dishes in Italian cooking and one of the hardest to get right. The title says everything: if you want to learn something, just search how.

Process and Strategy
The video had to feel personal without being indulgent. The subject is a belief I hold, not a recipe, so the challenge was making something quiet and cinematic that carried the idea rather than explained it. Cooking was the vehicle, not the point.
Creative Solution
I shot and edited the full film myself. The visual language leans into warmth and intimacy: low light, close-up kitchen details, slow pours, tight cuts on hands at work. A research sequence shows the YouTube tutorials alongside my own attempts, making the learning process visible. The ending lands on the finished plate and the title, which does the rest of the talking.
Results
This is a personal piece with no client and no brief. It exists as a record of something I believe in, and as an honest demonstration of what I can do when given complete creative freedom.

I take on a small number of projects at a time. That's intentional. The work is better for it.
