Foilton
Brand and packaging system for a professional salon tools startup.
Foilton is a professional salon tools brand built to give Hong Kong salon owners access to reliable, cost-efficient, salon-grade supplies. The founders identified a real gap in the local market: despite foil and cling film being daily-use essentials in every colour salon, there was no dedicated professional brand serving that need at scale. The goal was to launch with two core products, build a brand that could hold that ambition, and position Foilton not as a commodity supplier but as a long-term professional partner for modern salons.

Process and Strategy
The challenge was not the product. Foil is foil. The challenge was making a brand out of it. For salon owners, trust is built through consistency, reliability, and a supplier that understands how a salon actually operates. I positioned Foilton around that: a professional ecosystem salons can depend on, with room in the brand architecture to expand into education, services, and platform tools over time. Aluminium foil and cling film go hand in hand in salon colouring work, and the system had to treat them as a cohesive range from day one.
Creative Solution
The identity centres on a shield mark merging the letter F with a protective form, reliable without being generic. The brand colour is Orioles Orange: confident and absent from the professional tools category entirely. Foil packaging leads in orange and beige; cling film gets electric blue, a direct contrast that keeps the SKUs distinct while reading as one system. The demo card, handed to potential clients with a sample sheet of foil inside, puts the brand into its first physical sales moment.
Results
Foilton enters the market with a brand and packaging system built to scale. The identity holds from box to business card to app icon, and the colour logic can expand across future SKUs without starting over. For a brand whose ambition extends well beyond its first product, that foundation is the work.

I take on a small number of projects at a time. That's intentional. The work is better for it.
